Holiday Book Donation to The Atlanta Children's Shelter

In December, the Books for a Purpose club donated over 200 children's books to the Atlanta Children's Shelter. All of these books will be made available during "Holiday House," an annual event that supports homeless, formerly homeless, and low-income parents by empowering them to shop for free at the Atlanta Children’s Shelter.

Special thanks go to Margaret Light, the Development Coordinator of the Atlanta Children's Shelter, and Alison Griffith, the Early Childhood Education Director. Thank you both for assisting in the donation drop-off process and for giving Books for a Purpose the opportunity to spread holiday cheer to underserved families. Also, a heartfelt thank you to all the students and faculty at Alpharetta High School who donated to the Books for a Purpose club's autumn book drive.

The Atlanta Children's Shelter provides free daycare, social services, emotional support, and educational curricula for homeless children. Since 1986, the Atlanta Children's Shelter has cared for almost 8,000 children and provided services for over 5,000 families.
