Valentine's Day Book Donation to The Women's Clinic of Atlanta

On Feb. 14, 2023, the Books for a Purpose club dropped off over 100 children's book donations at the Women's Clinic of Atlanta in Johns Creek.

Moms will be able to "purchase" these books from the Clinic's baby boutique using baby bucks, which they earn by attending parenting education classes.

Books are a critical component of childhood development, as they increase reading comprehension skills, build vocabulary, and stimulate the imagination. We are so happy to have partnered with the Women's Clinic to help new mothers obtain the best resources possible for their children.

Special thanks go to Rebecca Davis, the Social Services Director of the Women's Clinic of Atlanta, and Anna Claire Flack, the Social Services Coordinator. Thank you both for assisting in the donation drop-off process and for giving Books for a Purpose the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of local mothers and their children. We would also like to thank Michelle Maddox, the Program Manager of Ferst Readers, for first connecting us with the Clinic and advancing opportunities for childhood literacy.

The Women's Clinic of Atlanta, established in 2019, offers a variety of services to women under 49 years of age, including evidence-based educational classes about parenting taught by licensed professionals.
